Youth / Samuel Ulman(1840 - 1924) Youth is not a time of life - it is a state of mind. It is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees. It is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions. It is the freshness of the deep springs of life. Youth means a tempermental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. 젊음이란 인생의 한 기간을 말하는 것이 아니라 마음의 상태를 말한다. 그것은 장미빛 뺨, 앵두같은 입술, 유연한 무릎의 문제가 아니라 강인한 의지, 탁월한 상상력, 불타는 열정을 말한다. 젊음이란 인생의 깊은 샘물에서 오는 신선한 정신. 젊음이란 두려움을 물리치는 용기, 안이함을 뿌리치는 모험심을 의미한다. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.
